Marriage is a covenant among man, woman and God. The most important relationship is the relationship with the Lord and marriage is the next important relationship. Marriage is modeled after the Lord's relationship with his people which are the church body. The bridegroom is Jesus and the bride is the church.
Marriage is the place God had planned for sexual union. I Corinthians 6:15-20 "Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never? Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, The two will become one flesh. But, he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body." Sexual sin is a sin against your body and so this makes sexual sin destructive and the best reason to follow the plan that the Lord has for marriage and then sex.
So, what should I do if I am not following God's plan for sex and marriage? Today is the day to make a change and start living for the Lord. The only answer is to stop sinning and start living for the Lord. The Lord wants you to have a personal relationship with him. The Lord is waiting to forgive and here are some steps to take: 1.) Stop sinning I John 3:6 "No-one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No-one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him." 2.) Ask God to forgive you I John 1:9 "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins, and purify us from all unrighteousness."
